Bike Riders Safety Using Smart Helmet

    Abstract

An accident is a specific, unexpected, unusual and unintended external action which occurs in a particular time and place, with no apparent and deliberate cause but with marked effects. Carelessness of the driver is the major factor of such accidents. Smart Helmet for Motorcyclist is a project undertaken to increase the rate of road safety among motorcyclists. This project is developed for the purpose of bike rider safety using smart helmet. The helmet consists of alcohol sensor, eye blink sensor and RFID. As soon as owner wears his helmet, alcohol sensor evaluates the breath of the user. The alcohol sensor is used to detect whether the person has consumed alcohol or not. RFID is used to verify the license of the person and the eye blink sensor evaluates the blink rate. These sensors information are sent to the controller and it analyses these signals and generates the control signal. This control signal is transmitted to the RF receiver through RF transmitter. RF receiver receives the signal from RF transmitter and sends it to the decoder. Decoder signal is given to the microcontroller. It analyses the signal and if the corresponding signal get received, it operates the engine through driver section. The engine should not turn ON, if any three conditions are violated.
