    Embedded Microcontroller Based Caller ID

    Abstract

This project is developed for the users for displaying the caller ID of incoming calls. The main modules in this project are DTMF decoder, Microcontroller and LCD display. It works under the principle of DTMF signals. When the incoming call arrives, at the second ring, the caller ID is received. The DTMF decoder IC 8870 decodes the DTMF signal into Binary code. The microcontroller is programmed to convert the BCD to decimal number. The microcontroller receives the BCD with proper delay. It converts the BCD into corresponding decimal number. The decimal code is given to the LCD display through LCD driver. The LCD used in this project is 16-character two-line display. It displays the corresponding caller ID in a particular sequence.
