    CONVERSION OF SEA WATER INTO DRINKING WATER USING DISTILLATION METHOD


    Abstract

    Normally drinking water is a problem in our day to day life. Also drinking water is not pure and may contain germs, dust etc. Thus it is not suitable for drinking water. So we are in a position to get drinking water from any other sources of water. The major source of water is sea water. But it consists of much salt and it is not suitable for drinking. In this project we propose a new technology to convert salt water to drinking water by means of distillation. The salt water is kept inside a vessel. A heating coil is immersed inside the water through a lid. A delivery hose is connected at the top of the lid. A rubber washer is connected in between the vessel and the lid and the lid is closed tightly with the vessel using bolt and nut. When the water is heated using the coil, it gets boiled. Thus steam comes through the hose. A radiator is connected at the other end of the hose. An outlet is connected with the radiator. Cool water is kept inside the radiator. The steam coming through the radiator is cooled and forms water drops. This water drops coming out of the radiator and is collected in a vessel. This water is pure enough for drinking.
