FABRICATION OF SOLAR WATER HEATER USING WASTE HEAT FROM AN AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM

    Abstract

In Houses, Institutions etc during the operation of the A/C, more heat energy is generated. This heat energy is undesirable. This project is designed to utilize the undesirable heat energy to desirable heat energy to heat water. It consists of solar panel, heat sink, peltier element, cooling fan etc. The solar panel is connected at the top of the building. An aluminium plate is fixed on the hot area of the AC. The peltier element is kept on the aluminium plate so that the hot end should face the aluminium plate. A heat sink with cooling fan is fixed on the peltier element. When the AC is in running, more amount of heat is produced. According to thermoelectric effect, more power is generated in the peltier element. The cool from the cool end is transmitted to the surroundings through the heat sink and cooling fan. The power is stored in the Battery. Also the power from the solar panel is stored in the Battery. The inverter is connected with the battery. The inverter inverts the DC power to AC 230V. The heating coil is connected with the AC 230V. Thus we get hot water which is desirable energy derived from undesirable energy.
