    GRASS CUTTER USING SICKLE BAR MECHANISM


    Abstract

    Normally grass cutters use roller or cutting wheels for its operations. This project is developed for the users to use a rollerless grass cutter. It consists of wheels, cam wheel, levers, Sickle bar mechanism, knives etc. The wheel shaft of the vehicle is connected with a bevel gear set. The bevel gear set turns the wheel rotation into ninety degrees. This operates a sickle bar mechanism which converts the rotation motion into sliding motion. Two sliding arms are connected with the sickle bar mechanism. The two sliding arms are connected with two knives. Thus when the two sliding arms are operated, the knives are moving one on the above. Thus when moving the vehicle, the knives cut the grass easily.
