    DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF SOLAR AIR COOLER


    Abstract

    This project is used to fabricate a solar air cooler. The main parts in this project are Solar panel, Battery, Pump motor, cotton mesh, blower fan etc. The solar panel is connected with the battery. The solar panel converts solar power into electric power. The electric power is stored in the battery. The entire unit is powered through the battery. The pump is connected with the battery through a switch. The blower is connected with the battery through another switch. The water pump is connected at the bottom of the air cooler. The delivery hose of the pump is connected with the top tray. There are many small holes in the top tray so that water can squeeze through the holes and the squeezed water wets the cotton mesh and reaches the bottom tray. When the cooler is switched on, the water falls on the cotton mesh and thus the cotton mesh will be wet. The fallen water is recycled and again it is pumped to the top tray and so on. When the blower is switched on, the blower sucks the air from the back side and delivers it to the front side. The back side air will be cooler than the other area because the wet cotton mesh produces the cooling effect. This cooled air is delivered to the front side of the cooling device.
